Hong Kong & Islands Region


Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island (HKI) Kwok Pak-chung reviewed an annual parade of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (HKRSP) (Hong Kong & Islands) at the Police College on March 3. A total of 28 teams from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and of elderly people attended the parade.


Mr Kwok praised the HKRSP members for their discipline, diligence and enthusiasm, adding that they fully demonstrated their unremitting efforts and high team spirit. He said that the Force and the HKRSP have been co-operating closely in road safety publicity and education, leading to a significant drop of serious traffic accidents and related injuries in HKI Region.


Mr Kwok expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Regional Commander of the HKRSP (Hong Kong & Islands) Mr Tang Wai-yau and his team for their efforts in promoting road safety. He also congratulated the winning teams of a foot drill competition.


Kowloon West Region


Regional Commander of Kowloon West Cheuk Hau-yip inspected about 600 members of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (HKRSP) (Kowloon West Region) in an annual parade at the Auxiliary Police Force Headquarters on February 24. The members came from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and elderly centres.


Mr Cheuk thanked the HKRSP for working with all police districts and traffic units in promoting road safety. He praised the team members for their active participation in volunteer service and setting a good example of contributing to the community. He stressed that Traffic Kowloon West adopted a multi-agency approach to raise public awareness of road safety, and encouraged community participation in disseminating safety messages to members of the public, especially the elderly and cyclists.


About a thousand people, including police officers, school representatives and community stakeholders, attended the event to promote community participation and road safety.


New Territories South Region


Senior Superintendent of Traffic New Territories South (T NTS) Michael Armstrong took the salute at an annual parade of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (HKRSP) (NTS Region) at Sha Tsui Road Playground in Tsuen Wan on February 17. He inspected 16 road safety patrol teams from local primary and secondary schools and kindergartens.


Mr Armstrong praised all the teams for their smart turnout. He said that the members followed the command of their leaders and were well-disciplined, fully demonstrating their team spirit and confidence. Noting that the Police and the HKRSP have been working closely in promoting road safety publicity campaigns and education, he gave his sincere thanks to the members for their selfless dedication to serving the community. He hoped the HKRSP would continue to work with the Police to spread road safety messages to people from all walks of life.
