The Senior Police Call Central Advisory Board (SPC CAB) held a spring reception on February 27 with SPC Honorary Presidents Councils of four districts of Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region.


Chairman of SPC CAB cum HKI Regional Commander Kwok Pak-chung sent greetings to all the guests and participants. He said that the overall crime figure in 2018 dropped to a record low since 1974, and crimes that targeted the elderly also dropped drastically. Mr Kwok thanked Police districts for actively engaging the elderly community and organising anti-deception and crime-prevention campaigns for SPC members, thereby contributing to the reduction of crime. He also expressed his appreciation to the Honorary Presidents of 21 Police districts and SPC members for their full support to the SPC Scheme. In addition, he mentioned that the SPC Facebook was launched in 2018 to provide an additional platform for communicating with the public.


Other officiating guests included Commander of Eastern District Rupert Dover, Commander of Wanchai District Tse Kwok-wai, Acting Commander of Central District Tse Ming-yeung, Deputy Commander of Western District Lam Hung-chuen, Senior Superintendent of Police Public Relations Branch (Community Relations) Yu Hoi-kwan as well as SPC CAB members and Chairmen of the SPC Honorary Presidents Councils of four districts of HKI. About 300 SPC members attended the event.


The reception featured a lion dance, a lucky draw and performances by the Police Pop Music Band and Yuen Long District SPC members who won the championship in the "Senior Citizen Road-Safety Broadway Show".
