Thirty-seven officers received the Kwai Tsing District (KWTDIST) Best Police Awards 2018 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on March 8 in the witness of over 300 officers. The event was organised by Kwai Tsing District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) to commend outstanding officers for their professional performance last year.


Four honourable guests, namely Kwai Tsing District Officer Mr Cheng Kin, Chairman of Kwai Tsing DFCC cum KWTDIST Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council Mr Lau Hing-wah, Chairman of Kwai Tsing District Council Mr Law King-sing and Vice-chairperson of Kwai Tsing DFCC Ms Chu Lai-ling, presented certificates to 15 Best Sergeants, 21 Best Police Constables and one Best Traffic Warden respectively. Many Kwai Tsing DFCC members and other community leaders attended the event to show their support.


Speaking at the presentation ceremony, KWTDIST Commander Lau Kit-man said a total of 2 435 crime cases were recorded in Kwai Tsing in 2018, a drop of 3.3 per cent as compared to 2017. The crime figure was the lowest since 1983. This reflected the joint efforts of the Police and community stakeholders in fighting crime.


Meanwhile, the KWTDIST spring gathering was held on the same occasion. All the guests and colleagues enjoyed the singing performance and magic show staged by the KWTDIST officers.
