A four-member delegation of Japan's National Police Agency (NPA), led by Director of Drugs and Firearms Division Mr Koju Matsubayashi, visited the Narcotics Bureau (NB) on March 28. They met Acting Chief Superintendent Ng Kwok-cheung and officers of the Operations Division of the NB to discuss drug trends in Hong Kong and Japan and strengthen law enforcement co-operation.

Mr Matsubayashi presented letters of appreciation to the NB officers for their professional support in the detection of a transnational drug trafficking case in Japan. NB officers assisted the NPA in the investigation of the case between September 2017 and September 2018, resulting in a seizure of 400 kilogrammes of methamphetamine in Ibaraki Prefecture of Japan and the arrest of the mastermind.
