With the arrangements made by the Operations Wing of Kowloon West (KW), Senior Superintendent Mok Hing-wing and Chief Inspector Shum Lap-chi led a delegation of KW Region to visit the Macao Unitary Police Service on April 11. Both sides shared their experience in civil defense and emergency response for typhoons. The other delegates were three Inspectors, three Station Sergeants, nine Sergeants and 17 Police Constables.

The visit started with a guided tour to the Civil Protection Operations Centre on Taipa, where Macao officers introduced their facilities and explained the organisational structure and operational procedures of their civil protection system. The Macao officers also shared their experience in civil defense publicity and preparation for emergencies.

Afterwards, the delegation attended a sharing session to learn about Macao officers' experience in handling major disasters, for example during the passage of super typhoons "Hato" and "Mangkhut". Both sides talked about their response to disasters. The delegates then saw the rescue and emergency equipment presented by the Public Security Police Force, the Customs Service and the Fire Services Bureau of Macao. At the end of the visit, the delegates toured the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to get a better understanding of the boundary crossing facilities at the Macao Port and the clearance mode at the Zhuhai and Macao Ports.

The visit not only broadened the horizons of the delegates and enhanced their capabilities in formulating contingency plans for typhoons and other emergencies, but also strengthened their partnership with Macao Police.
