Officers of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force are committed to supporting the regular force in performing diverse duties. In recent years, auxiliary officers (AUX officers) have shown growing interest in suburban patrol duties.

Auxiliary officers of Cheung Sha Wan Division (CSWDIV) provide extra police presence by conducting suburban patrol during weekends and public holidays along four designated routes in Golden Hill, covering popular country parks, reservoirs and hiking trails.

The officers on patrol are dedicated to raising public awareness of the prevention of crime such as countryside robbery and burglary. The prevention of cruelty to animals is another key message that the officers spread to hikers. Not only is suburban patrol effective in preventing crime, it also provides an opportunity for auxiliary officers to engage the community.
