Marine Region ran an experience-sharing seminar under the Experienced Officers Exit Debriefing Series at its Headquarters on May 17. Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) of Marine Harbour Division Tang Chi-ming, who would retire soon, shared his valuable experience in operations, criminal investigation and practical seamanship over his 32 years of service. Over 60 frontline officers attended the seminar to learn more about the key points in marine policing.

Mr Tang shared his investigation skills with reference to some cases that he had worked on. He advised officers to handle cases with empathy and put themselves in the shoes of victims and their family members. When facing difficulties in investigation, he said officers must persevere, make bold conjectures and seek verification carefully.

He also urged the young Marine Police Officers to maintain integrity and be honest and accountable, adding that they should uphold the core values of the Force at all times.
