Corresponding to the situation of labour market, Recruitment Division (RECDIV) always adopts proactive and responsive approach to attract high calibre candidates to join the Force. Last December, officers of RECDIV held a number of recruitment events in Beijing.

On December 6, RECDIV jointly held a career seminar with the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing, attracting the attendance of around 80 Hong Kong students who are currently studying in Beijing. The seminar covered not only police work and recruitment processes, but also the Police Mentorship Programme Outreach (PMPO). Launched in 2018, the PMPO is a tailor-made programme for Hong Kong students studying or graduated from mainland or overseas tertiary institutions.

On December 7, the Civil Service Bureau held the Joint Recruitment Examination, Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law Test in Beijing. Officers of RECDIV took the opportunity to set up a recruitment booth outside the examination venue to introduce police work and answer enquires. In the evening on the same day, RECDIV and several Hong Kong student associations in Beijing conducted a sharing session with around 30 Hong Kong students from Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The attendees believed the Hong Kong Police Force's recruitment events on the mainland could inspire and motivate them to join the Force upon graduation, and the PMPO could give them a better understanding of police work and bolster their confidence in joining the Force.

Students interested in joining the PMPO may visit the following website to obtain more details (https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/15_recruit/pmpo.html) and submit an online application via the following link (https://www.idea.gov.hk/hkpf-rec-hr/hong-kong-police-force-police-mentorship-programme-outreach-pmpo-application-2020-21/en).
