Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, frontline security guards working on different premises have remained steadfast in ensuring the safety of the occupants.

In April, officers of the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories South (RCPO NTS) visited hundreds of frontline security guards of over 20 property management companies and housing estates including Sun Chui Estate, Hin Keng Estate, Kwai Shing Estate, Kwai Chung Estate, Discovery Bay, Caribbean Coast, Fu Tung Estate and Yat Tung Estate, so as to show them support and offer them surgical masks donated by the public. During the visit to Kwai Chung Estate, officers of the RCPO NTS called on a security guard who was nearly hit by a broken glass bottle while handling a case of object falling from height outside a building.

During the visits, officers of the RCPO NTS briefed the security guards on the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap. 599G), the prevailing crime trend and anti-scam information, thereby enhancing the security guards’ professional knowledge and confidence in discharging their duties.
