With a view to strengthening officers’ knowledge and enhancing their professionalism when handling traffic-related duties, the Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) launched the “Traffic Knowledge Sharing Programme” in March 2019 to systematically capture, codify and disseminate traffic-related knowledge and experience through the Force Knowledge Management (KM) Database, TBHQ Bulletins and sharing sessions. Since then, traffic-related legal advices have been added to the database “KM (Information Bulletins) - Traffic Prosecution”.

In May 2020, the TBHQ hosted seven sharing sessions for around 250 regional traffic officers, district operations officers, district traffic teams and divisional operation staff to share the knowledge on vehicle licences and permits and related legislations, the experience in deploying the Mobile Video Team for tackling moving traffic offences, the framework of the “Selected Traffic Enforcement Priorities 2020” and the best practice in combating illegal parking.
