In July, the Social Media Communication Section of the Police Public Relations Branch partnered with kindergarten student members of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol to film a short video series titled “Traffic Matters — Little Reminders from Little Kids”, in order to disseminate road safety tips and messages on different social media platforms of the Force.

Encompassing four themes — “Be an Attentive Driver”, “Safe Cycling”, “Pedestrian Safety” and “No Drink-driving”, the series covers safety precautions that general road users fail to take every now and then, such as wearing suitable helmets when they cycle and paying attention to their surroundings when they cross the road.

The series comprises short videos that are under 20 seconds each. With the use of catchy slogans, short and sweet storylines as well as a heartwarming tone, these videos set out to convey the importance of road safety to each and every family. Featuring conversations between little kids and their parents, the stories highlight many road safety basics that are easily neglected by adults. It is hoped that the reminders given by these children to their parents can also remind viewers to be safety-conscious road users.
