Police Constables of Kowloon East Region Lam Kam-lung and Kong Kai-yeung participated in the PCA Hong Kong Championships 2021 organised by the Hong Kong Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation and Physical Culture Association - Hong Kong at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre on October 24. Constable Kong won the second runner-up in the Men’s Novice Bodybuilding category, while Constable Lam ranked fifth in the Men’s Master Bodybuilding category.

Both officers are members of the bodybuilding team, the “Dragon Team”. The team consists of a group of officers sharing the same interest in bodybuilding, who spend their leisure time in undergoing training with the coaching of experienced colleagues in the Force’s fitness training rooms.

Constable Kong recounted, “This was my first time entering a bodybuilding competition. With rigorous training as well as the guidance and encouragement from experienced teammates, I managed to achieve good performance in the competition. This experience has made me realise the importance of perseverance and team spirit.”

Constable Lam will retire from the Force soon. As a bodybuilding veteran, he shared his experience with colleagues to help them better prepare for the competition. He also reminded them of the key points in training and competition. To his teammates, Constable Lam is a mentor and a friend. He has set a good example and taught them the importance of team work and experience sharing.

Police Sailing Club

Twenty-three members of the Police Sailing Club took part in the 24 Hour Charity Dinghy Race organised by the Hebe Haven Yacht Club on October 30 and 31 and raised a donation of over HK$30,000.

Launched in 2002, the event is the only 24-hour dinghy charity race in Hong Kong as well as in Southeast Asia. This year, 39 schools and organisations participated in the race. The Police team was placed 13th and fourth in the overall ranking and the RS Quest category respectively.

Chairman of the Police Sailing Club Justin Shave was delighted with the team’s results and thanked team members for their participation. He also expressed appreciation to the Club’s Executive Committee for their preparation work and the support of donors. The Police Sailing Club will continue to promote sailing through a series of activities and participate in other charity events to promote community engagement.
