Since August 2021, Regional Commander of Marine David Jordan took over the role of Chairman of Operation Breakthrough to lead police volunteers to provide sporting opportunities for young people to nurture their discipline, sense of responsibility and positive mindsets, thereby fostering them to become good citizens.

On December 6, 2021, the Chairman of Operation Breakthrough presented Operation Breakthrough Certificates of Appreciation, as well as Certificates of Recognition and Certificates of Appreciation for Volunteer Service issued by the Social Welfare Department, to over 80 volunteers at the headquarters of Marine Region. Among the recipients are former participants of Operation Breakthrough, who are now serving in various discipline services. They have become volunteers to nurture the next generation.

Operation Breakthrough will strive to maintain its role as a bridge between youths and the Force, and volunteers will continue to serve the community with dedication. Serving, auxiliary or retired officers who are interested in contributing to Operation Breakthrough please contact Senior Inspector Yuen Kit-man at kityuen@police.gov.hk.
