Since August 2020, the District Intelligence Section of Kwai Tsing District (DIS KWTDIST) has implemented “Project SHIELD” with the aim of establishing an efficient intelligence network among stakeholders of the industrial buildings in the district for preventing and detecting crimes. One of the main initiatives of “Project SHIELD” is the creation of a WhatsApp group with stakeholders of the industrial buildings in KWTDIST to establish a 24-hour intelligence network.

On November 4 and December 14, 2021, DIS KWTDIST and the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories South held two seminars for a total of 50 representatives from the property management companies of the industrial buildings in the district to promote “Project SHIELD” and share crime prevention initiatives with them. In the seminars, District Commander of KWTDIST Tse Chun-chung also exchanged his views with the representatives and encouraged them to actively participate in the project.
