TWDIST


Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST) launched its publicity campaign Project Unveil to facilitate the Force’s promotion efforts in anti-deception. The Tsuen Wan District Junior Police Call Clubhouse was opened to the public on December 1, 2022 for anti-scam exhibits and booth activities. During the event, Acting District Commander of TWDIST Tang Kwok-hung, together with District Officer (Tsuen Wan) Mr Au Ka-shing and members of the Tsuen Wan District Fight Crime Committee, handed out anti-deception leaflets to citizens outside the clubhouse. TWDIST officers also held anti-deception booth activities in a secondary school in the district on December 3 to heighten the students’ anti-scam awareness.


TPDIST


Tai Po District (TPDIST) launched anti-deception promotion activities between December 3 and 10, 2022. It held an anti-deception night on December 10, attended by District Commander of TPDIST Ma Wai-hing and community leaders of the district. Apart from the presentation of prizes to the Anti-Deception Puzzle Design Competition, djembe, anti-deception songs and anti-deception dramas were performed by “Little Grape” ambassadors. Senior Police Call of TPDIST staged a Cantonese opera to encourage the guests joining hands with the Force to prevent and combat deception cases. Booth games were also held outside the venue to raise the public’s awareness of anti-deception.


MKDIST


Mong Kok District (MKDIST) mounted a scam-fighting and arresting operation codenamed WILDHEAT to raise anti-scam awareness among the stakeholders and the public. Senior management and frontline managers from major banks, the management from large shopping malls and hotels in Mong Kok were invited to attend seven sessions of the Crime Prevention and Anti-Scam Forum held in Mong Kok Police Station for sharing crime trends, defrauding tricks and successful examples of police-bank cooperation so as to enhance communication between the industry and the Force. MKDIST Police Community Relations Office and District Intelligence Section also held seminars to disseminate anti-scam messages and give anti-scam tips to students of schools in the district. District Commander of MKDIST Ng Chi-chung, members of Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee, members of Mong Kok District Senior Police Call and students in the district distributed anti-scam leaflets and souvenirs to the public and shop attendants to remind them against scam traps.


SMPDIST


To support the Force’s publicity campaign against deception, Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) arranged for two promotional yachts with anti-deception message banners to sail along the promenades of Kwun Tong, Kowloon Bay, Kai Tak and the Victoria Harbour on December 1, 2022. An open-top promotional bus was also on parade in Sau Mau Ping and Ngau Tau Kok. District Commander (DC) of SMPDIST Tse Tsui-yan, Deputy DC of SMPDIST Justin Shave, Divisional Commander (DVC) of SMPDIV Cheung Pui-kay, Acting DVC of NTKDIV Tam Yu-hei and Police Community Relations Officer Tam Man-hoi, Chairman of Kwun Tong District Council Mr Or Chong-shing with some members of the Council, and Vice Chairman of SMP Senior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council Mr Yam William officiated at the kick-off ceremony of the Anti-Deception Campaign Promotion Day.
