Assistant Commissioner (Operations) (ACP OPS) Lui Kam-ho, accompanied by Commandant of Police Tactical Unit (PTU) Mok Hing-wing, officiated at the opening ceremony of the Unimog Display Platform at the PTU Headquarters on April 24. The display platform showcased the Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Unimog, previous APCs Saracen and Saxon, demonstrating the evolution of APC.

Addressing the ceremony, ACP OPS said that Unimog had completed its difficult historical missions and had written a glorious chapter. The display platform can remind Force members that the society is still full of hidden undercurrents despite its calm surface. Officers should stay alert to the challenges and equip themselves all the time. Apart from appreciating the staff for the preparatory work, he commended all PTU officers for their contribution to various large-scale operations, fulfilling their important duty of safeguarding the nation.

Unimog was introduced to the Force in 2009 and retired in 2022. It has been replaced by Sabertooth. During its service, Unimog was engaged in various operations, including the social unrest, to perform duties on the frontline.
