Lantau District (LTDIST) conducted an exercise codenamed STARTPOUR in Lantau South Country Park on May 15. The exercise simulated a rescue scenario in which a number of participants taking part in a trail race got into difficulty whilst running the Shek Pik Country Trail. The focus of the exercise was to test the multi-agency response in terms of inter-departmental communication and coordination of rescue operation, as well as enhancing operation efficiency by means of technology, including deployment of the Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) Cadre and application of the 3R Solution.

The exercise was coordinated by LTDIST and participated by officers from the Police Tactical Unit’s F Company, SUA Cadre of Emergency Unit of New Territories South, Fire Services Department, Civil Aid Service and Government Flying Service. LTDIST will organise related exercises regularly in the future to strengthen operational effectiveness.
