Chief Executive (CE) Mr John Lee presented honours and awards at the 2023 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony in the Government House on November 25. A total of 35 Force members were recognised on the 2023 Honours List announced on July 1.
Former Deputy Commissioners Lau Chi-wai and Yuen Yuk-kin were awarded Silver Bauhinia Star. Deputy Commissioner Kan Kai-yan, Senior Assistant Commissioner Yip Wan-lung, Assistant Commissioners (ACPs) Mak Chin-ho, Lui Kam-ho and Tsang Yim-sheung were awarded the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Moreover, 22 officers received the Hong Kong Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Furthermore, four officers were presented with the CE’s Commendation for Government/Public Service for their outstanding performance in the Force. Another officer was also presented with the CE’s Commendation for Government/Public Service for his outstanding contribution as a member of HKSAR search and rescue team deployed to Turkey. A former Senior Clinical Psychologist was awarded the Medal of Honour in recognition of his outstanding and dedicated service in the Force.
