Marine (MAR), collaborating with Public Relations Wing, Anti-Deception Coordination Centre and Project SILVERSHIELD, has successfully invited Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company Limited (HKF Group) to display the anti-deception mascots “The Little Grape”, “Chai Chai” and “Ping On Family” on a 65m-long and three-decker ferry. The ferry, named Ping On, will shuttle between Kwun Tong and North Point during daytime and provide harbour cruise at night for a year. It is expected that the ferry will catch the attention of the public on both sides of Victoria Harbour, promoting anti-deception messages to citizens and tourists in a brand new way.

After the half-year re-configuration, Ping On had its launching ceremony cum anti-deception harbour cruise conducted at MAR Headquarters on February 8. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Chow Yat-ming, Regional Commander of MAR Ng Cheuk-hang, Executive Director and Group General Manager of HKF Group Mr Gabriel Lee, District Officer (Islands) Miss Yeung Wai-sum and Chairman of District Fight Crime Committee (Islands District) Ms Chau Chuen-heung officiated at the ceremony. The Commissioner said in his speech that Ping On could disseminate anti-deception messages to the public in a vivid and approachable manner.

Right after the ceremony, Ping On started the harbour cruise. During the 75-minute voyage, anti-deception performances and booth games were arranged. Officers from Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau also helped citizens download Scameter+ and distribute anti-deception souvenirs. About 250 guests and members of the public attended the event.
