To further deepen the culture of integrity within the Force, the Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch (C&IIB) will introduce the Annual Integrity Management (IM) Quiz on June 1. All regular officers have to answer ten multiple-choice questions on IM topics covering areas such as IM policies, conflict of interest and discipline matters etc., before submitting their Annual Performance / Promotion Reports (APRs) via the Personnel Information Communal System II .
The quiz aims to regularly reinforce officers’ knowledge on integrity-related laws, regulations and key issues. After each question, the system will explain the relevant legal provisions and orders instantly to help officers grasp the core IM concepts. Quiz results will remain confidential and will not in any way affect officers’ APRs. To assist officers in understanding how the quiz works, a short introductory video has been uploaded onto P-TV. By the end of 2025, the quiz will be extended to cover colleagues of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force and details will be announced in due course.
Some of the frontline officers, Police Headquarters officers and the Force management were invited for a pilot test of the quiz to provide comments about the quiz questions and operation of the system. Invited officers said that the system was user-friendly, and the quiz questions could reinforce officers’ professional awareness of IM effectively. Deputy Commissioner (Management) (DCP MAN) Chan Joon-sun indicated that the Force hoped to help colleagues revisit their professional knowledge of integrity each year with a quiz that lasts a few minutes, thereby enhancing their awareness of risks and avoiding integrity pitfalls. He remarked, “All colleagues should take the quiz seriously, as we are the beneficiaries in the end.”
