The Digital Forensics Laboratory System (DFLS) of Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) was awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification in February, demonstrating the Force’s commitment to safeguarding information security and protecting digital evidence.

CSTCB launched the Digital Forensics Complex (DFC) in July 2023, and established a series of policies, procedures and control measures related to information security based on the new standards set under ISO/IEC 27001 in 2022. After over a year’s preparation, DFC passed an independent information security assessment conducted by SGS Hong Kong Limited, and once again obtained ISO/IEC 27001 international standard certification following its previous certification in 2016. The scope of certification covers information security management of the system, ascertaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in DFC.

At the certificate presentation ceremony held on April 2, Chief Superintendent of CSTCB Lam Cheuk-ho received the Certificate of Accreditation from Section Manager of Account Management of Business Assurance of SGS Hong Kong Limited Mr Tam Wan-tsung, as witnessed by Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Wing-man and Vice President, Regional Head of Business Assurance in Asia Pacific Region of SGS Hong Kong Limited Mr Ben Tsang. The certification not only showcases the professionalism of CSTCB but also acknowledges that DFC meets the criteria for international best practice in terms of information security.
