The Police Band visited S.K.H. St. James’ Primary School and Maryknoll Fathers’ School (Primary Section) to conduct the “Music Touch” programme in April, aiming to promote community participation through music sharing and to showcase the positive image of the Force.
The Police Band integrated policing concepts into the music for the first time using an interactive approach. The song began with the anti-scam mascot “The Little Grape”. The slogan “Beware of liars” was remixed with the rhythm of pop music so that students would chant the slogan “Beware of liars” while clapping along with the music. The atmosphere was electrifying. Teachers and students not only enjoyed the music but also enhanced their awareness of anti-deception.
Since 2016, the “Music Touch” programme has collaborated with Police Community Relations Officers of various Districts, and has visited over a hundred schools to date. The Police Band will continue using music as a platform to foster a better and harmonious community.
