In order to strengthen teenagers’ anti-deception awareness effectively, New Territories South (NTS) organised the Hong Kong Schools Anti-Deception Drama Competition. With the support of the title sponsor Shine Tak Foundation, as well as the artistic guidance offered by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, it was hoped that anti-deception messages could be delivered throughout the community through the drama competition.

Commissioner Chow Yat-ming, the then Director of Operations (D OPS) Chan Tung, Chairperson of the Shine Tak Foundation Mr Lam Kwok-hing and Honorary Chairperson of the Shine Tak Foundation Mrs Tung Ng Ling-ling attended as the officiating guests of the award presentation ceremony held on April 27. In his speech, the Commissioner said that the Force, by pioneering an anti-deception drama education model in collaboration with the education and arts sectors, enhanced students’ abilities to identify the pitfalls of crime, and encouraged them to promote the anti-deception knowledge learnt in the competition beyond the stage.

Between December 2024 and March 2025, NTS organised a total of 26 interactive drama workshops on anti-deception, culminating in a Grand Final on April 26 which drew an audience of over 2 400 teachers, students and parents. The then D OPS Chan Tung, Chairperson of the Shine Tak Foundation Mr Lam Kwok-hing, Head of Education Hub of Hong Kong Repertory Theatre Mr Chow Chiu-lun and live audience selected winners for 18 prizes across drama and short video clip categories. The competition attracted 342 students from 58 primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong, and earned a world record recognition by the World Record Association as the “World’s Premier and Most Widely Participated Anti-Deception Drama Competition”.
