Commissioner Chow Yat-ming took the salute as the Reviewing Officer at the passing-out parade of 170 members of the Foxtrot Company of Police Tactical Unit (PTU) on September 12. In his speech, the Commissioner reminded that PTU has been established for over half a century, during which it has experienced numerous social events and witnessed the evolution of the Force. PTU, with its distinguishable blue beret, has become a cornerstone of social stability for citizens and the deterrent to criminals. The Force served as the defence for safeguarding the city, and that PTU was one of the most critical components of this defence. He hoped the officers will carry forward the legacy of the “blue beret” and always remember the importance of teamwork.

Additionally, the Commissioner reminded the graduates that “Uniform on, together we are citizens; Uniform off, still we are policemen”, emphasising the responsibility and commitment of police officers to the society. Regardless of whether they are on duty, they must protect citizens' safety and uphold the spirit of the rule of law with empathy, restraint, and professionalism.
