Officers of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) went to Seoul, South Korea to attend the 3rd International Counter-Fraud Conference 2025 (the Conference) organised by the Korean National Police Agency between September 16 and 17. The Conference brought together 250 experts and law enforcement officers all over the world with the aim of enhancing international cooperation in the fight against transnational fraud schemes.
CCB Superintendent Lee Wai-see elaborated on the Force’s efforts in combatting and preventing scams during the Conference, and explained with real cases how to intervene and prevent scams through close intelligence exchange with banks, real-time transaction monitoring and international stop-payment mechanism. Concerning international cooperation, she introduced the functions and operational effectiveness of the cross-border collaboration platform “FRONTIER+” jointly established by the Force and ten other anti-scam centres. Attending representatives from other jurisdictions also showed interest to join.
