Connection to the Chinese Mainland ─ Commissioner attends 2025 Conference of Global Public Safety Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang)


On September 17, Commissioner Chow Yat-ming led a delegation to attend the 2025 Conference of Global Public Safety Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) (the Forum) held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, and launched discussions with representatives from 120 countries, regions and international organisations all over the world about three major sub-topics - "Joint strategies: Addressing global public security risks and challenges in the new era", "Innovation leading the way: Enhancing public security capacity building and technical cooperation" and "Unified action: Building a more comprehensive mechanism for global public security cooperation". High-level and in-depth international exchanges were also conducted in eight sub-forums.


During the Forum, the Commissioner had bilateral meetings with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia Mr Keo Vanthan and Head of International Cooperation of the Korean National Police Agency Mr Kim Jong Gil to further promote intelligence sharing and collaboration mechanisms, laying the foundation for future cross-border cooperation.


In an interview with the Ministry of Public Security News Media Center, the Commissioner expressed that the forum enabled stakeholders from different regions to meet and have dialogue on global issues. He hopes the Force can strengthen multilateral cooperation with law enforcement and police units of various places to combat global criminal activities and address increasingly complicated international security threats.


Connection to the world ─ Director of Crime and Security leads delegation to attend 25th INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference


Director of Crime and Security Chan Tung led a Force delegation to attend the 25th INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference (the Conference) held at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation in Singapore from September 17 to 18. 165 representatives from 49 countries and regions focused on three core topics and engaged in extensive exchanges.


During the Conference, Director of Crime and Security had bilateral meetings with representatives from law enforcement agencies in the UAE, Cambodia, Vietnam, Korea and Germany respectively. The parties engaged in extensive exchanges about the importance of collaborative efforts in combatting crime, and exchanged views on tackling cross-border scam and cybercrime, thereby deepening the cooperation with international partners and strengthening the Force’s ability to combat cross-border crime.


Following the conclusion of the Forum and the Conference, the Force posted on social media, made it clear that it would fully support the call from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, leverage Hong Kong’s unique role as a “super-connector” to connect the Chinese Mainland with international law enforcement agencies, promote closer cooperation and contribute to regional and global stability.
