Since July, members of the Auxiliary Police have received training in the use of firearms while performing duties in plainclothes, enabling them to take part in plainclothes enforcement operations across Districts such as combatting illegal carriage of passengers for reward, unlawful gambling, and pickpocketing. During operations, Auxiliary Police officers not only assisted regular officers in cordoning off operation areas and seizing exhibits but also took on arrest duties, providing vital support to frontline law enforcement work.
After several months of implementation, the policy of deploying Auxiliary Police in plainclothes duties has been effective. It enhanced operational flexibility and provided operational support, fully embodying the spirit of “regular and auxies in operation together” and “One Force”.
