The third meeting of the Working Group on Technological, Automotive and Tactical Innovations in Operational Policing (TATI), chaired by Chief Superintendent (Operations) Wong Chi-wing on behalf of the Assistant Commissioner (Operations), was held on October 30. Attendees included representatives from the Force, disciplined services, government departments, tertiary institutions as well as the Science Park and Cyberport.
The meeting focused on the two directions of the integration of autonomous systems and deepening of cross-departmental collaboration mechanisms. Participants had in-depth explorations of autonomous logistical support systems and artificial intelligence-enhanced management tools, discussed the deployment pathways and application conditions, and examined how to achieve balance among innovation, public safety and operational efficiency.
Wong Chi-wing emphasised that TATI’s task was not merely to adopt new technologies, but to enhance the efficiency in serving the community by law enforcement agencies amid the rapidly changing technology environment.
TATI will enhance the collaboration with industry partners and academic institutions, building an ecosystem of coordinated innovation to pragmatically address various policing challenges.
