The Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit has once again partnered with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) this year and co-hosted the Safe Community Plus+ to deliver counter-terrorism (CT) messages to the community and schools.
The kick-off ceremony was held at the HKFYG Leadership Institute on November 11, and officiated by the Commissioner Chow Yat-ming and the Executive Director of HKFYG Ms Hsu Siu-man. Around 100 students and parents were among the first to participate in a variety of activities of the Safe Community Plus+ on the day. An award presentation ceremony for the “Spot and Report” Colouring Competition was also held during the kick-off ceremony to encourage students to creatively integrate CT messages into their work, and to foster the “Spot and Report” awareness from an early age.
Over the next few months, the Safe Community Plus+ will tour across the territory. With a learning through play approach, it aims to enable the public to acquire anti-crime and CT knowledge, and encourage citizens to “Spot and Report” and know how to apply the advisory of “Run, Hide, Report”.
