To enhance officers’ professional knowledge and skills in commercial crime investigation, the Commercial Crime Bureau organised the Commercial Crime Advanced Course from December 10 to 12, 2025, and invited experts from several law enforcement agencies and financial institutions to share their experience. 11 trainees from Chinese Mainland and Macao, along with eight local regulators, took part in the course.
The course emphasised good practices and its content covered payment technology fraud; the trends, regulations and development of Web 3.0; Virtual Assets and Stablecoins; Cyber Security; as well as the utilisation of technology and big data in combatting fraud and money laundering. The aim was to enhance trainees’ abilities to analyse and investigate complex commercial crimes.
The course not only fostered cooperation among the Chinese Mainland, Macao and Hong Kong, but also provided a platform for the trainees to have discussions with experts from multinational technology companies about issues such as artificial intelligence and the applications of big data. Participants opined that the course was relevant and practical.
