In response to the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, colleagues from various Force units worked day and night, collaborating with various government departments to conduct rescue operations, follow-up arrangements, and investigation work. The Police received a letter from a citizen, highly commending the professionalism of Force members.

Dear Commissioner Chow,

As the New Year approaches, I would like to extend my sincere festive wishes to all colleagues of the Force and wish you all the best in the coming year.

In handling challenging missions such as the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, I witnessed the professional spirit of “Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty” displayed by Force members. Force members worked side by side and the management offered timely encouragement, fully embodying the unity and commitment of the Force.

As a citizen who cares about Hong Kong, I have noticed that the Commissioner recently emphasised repeatedly the spirit of “One Force, One Team” in preparing for major events such as the National Games to ensure the mega events in Hong Kong are smoothly held.

Furthermore, the Commissioner also mentioned the achievements attained in “Smart Policing” including drone patrols and the award-winning “HKSOS” emergency mobile application which deeply impressed me.

The above examples made me feel profoundly that the Force is an outstanding team which is professional, efficient and constantly improving.

I am well aware that maintaining stability of society as well as safeguarding and protecting life and property are honourable yet challenging missions for the Force. Hereby, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude and support for the selfless dedication of all Force members. Your hard work is the cornerstone of Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.

Finally, I once again wish all Force members a Happy New Year, and also wish that under the Commissioner’s leadership, the Force will continue to achieve remarkable results and safeguard our shared home.
