Being one of the Knowledge Management (KM) key events, the “Senior Leaders Exit Debriefing Series” invited the then Director of the Police College (College) Chan Yee-lai, and the then Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) (ACP IS) Kwan Chui-ching to share their insights and police careers that spanned over 30 years before their retirement, on January 13 and 19 respectively.
The January 13 debriefing session was hosted by Deputy Director (2) of the College cum Chief Knowledge Champion Choi Tung-tsoi. The then Director of the College, looking back on her 32 years in the Force, shared her experience in criminal investigation, district management, as well as challenges in the rank of ACP. She underscored the importance of intelligence gathering, inter-unit collaboration, and the steadfast dedication. She also encouraged officers to uphold the beliefs of “Self-discipline and Social Commitment” and “Passing the Torch”, to pursue continuous self-improvement, inherit the Force’s excellent traditions and contribute to the Force.
The January 19 debriefing session was hosted by KM Champion (Digital Policing) Senior Superintendent Swalikh Mohammed. The then ACP IS, reminiscing about her 37 years in the Force, shared the handling of serious crimes and the challenge of developing the HKSOS emergency mobile application. She emphasised the critical role of “Digital Leadership” in the Force’s digital transformation, and mentioned P-TV, an internal video platform, that enhances communication and knowledge sharing within the Force. She pointed out that people are the greatest asset, and also urged the management to give timely support and recognise the contribution made by their team members.
