The e154 App, a software application for taking statements electronically, was upgraded to e154+ at the end of last October. The Crime Records Bureau (CRB) held the first briefing session on January 13 at New Territories South Regional Headquarters to introduce the newly added functions of e154+ to frontline officers. The briefing was also attended by crime officers from various Districts via video conferencing.

The upgraded e154+ connects directly to systems such as CMIS, eSPS, eCOP+ and eDrive, enabling seamless data transfer and automatic generation of the front page of Investigation Reports (Pol 155). A number of functions are also newly added to e154+, including built-in table insertion, advanced text editing, statement sharing, delegation of authority and highly accurate speech-to-text conversion, to speed up document processing work.

In addition to explaining the functions of e154+ by CRB, the E-Police Division (EPOL) carried out a technical demonstration during the briefing. An on-site technical support station was also set up where members of the Information Systems Wing provided immediate assistance to resolve tablet and software problems.

The briefing received positive feedback from the attendees. CRB and EPOL will hold briefing sessions between January and February in other Regions. All interested officers are welcome to join.
