The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) is dedicated to combatting frauds and scams through diversified strategies, fostering the development of the cybersecurity ecosystem, deepening cross-sector collaboration, and continuously enhancing the professional capabilities of its officers. On January 16, CSTCB organised a series of activities in collaboration with stakeholders from various sectors to promote cyber policing.
Cross-sector collaboration - CyberDefenders’ Alliance anti-deception workshop
CSTCB, together with CyberDefenders’ Alliance, held an anti-deception workshop at Meta Hong Kong’s office, attracting over 130 members from more than 60 public and private organisations. During the workshop, Meta’s representative delivered a presentation on “Privacy and Security of Social Media Account”, followed by CSTCB’s sharing on the trends of emerging cyber threats and defence technologies.
Professional empowerment - Cyber Friday
Furthermore, CSTCB hosted the Cyber Friday professional seminar at Police Headquarters, inviting industry experts and scholars to share their insights on cutting-edge topics, including open-source intelligence, dark web investigation, cryptocurrency-related crimes, large language model security, data governance and Artificial Intelligence (AI) risk management. Experts also explored the topics of data potential, as well as risk management and security assessment of AI models, providing analysis on cybersecurity challenges and response strategies for officers.
Innovative leadership - Tech Festival 2026
CSTCB also organised Tech Festival 2026 which offered opportunities for technical exchanges and fostering creativity among officers. Participants used AI tools to produce short videos and took part in the Capture the Flag Challenge, showcasing their technical skills and adaptability in breaching AI defence systems. The event combined creativity with technology, while promoting teamwork and strategic thinking.
