The Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit (ICTU) held the “Safe Community Roadshow 2026” over two weekends between January 10 and 18 in shopping malls in Tsuen Wan and Mong Kok respectively. The events attracted nearly 14 000 members of the public.
The events featured six interactive games and several photo spots, and combined educational with practical elements to enable the public to acquire counter-terrorism (CT) and emergency preparedness skills, understand the key messages of “Spot and Report”, “Run, Hide, Report” and “Three Basic Skills on Emergency Preparedness” etc.
A new highlight this year was the “Spot and Report” instant newspaper photo booth, where members of the public could take commemorative photos after completing the experiential activities and become the “Safe Community” cover figure. The booth received enthusiastic responses from participants.
ICTU appreciates the active participation by members of the public, and hopes to strengthen their CT awareness and emergency preparedness by organising more community activities.
