To enhance cooperation between Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong in combatting counterfeit currency, the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) arranged a three-person delegation led by Chief Inspector Tang Shun-yan, an expert in counterfeit currency, to visit Beijing from January 13 to 16. They participated in the training course on anti-counterfeiting technology and identification of Renminbi, and shared Hong Kong’s efforts in combatting counterfeit currency.
The delegation visited the People’s Bank of China’s Renminbi Identification Centre and the Ministry of Public Security’s Institute of Forensic Science to learn about the country’s latest developments in anti-counterfeiting technology and practices. They also attended training in anti-counterfeit currency skills organised by the Ministry of Public Security and the People’s Bank of China to enhance their professional capability for identifying counterfeit currency, during which officers from both sides exchanged insights and shared experience in combatting counterfeit currency.
