The Financial Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (FIIB) held the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Month in January, during which public education was conducted through outreach promotion campaigns to promote AML messages to the public.

Between January 10 and 11, FIIB teamed up with Yau Tsim District to hold an Anti-Scam and AML exhibition at K11 Art Mall, and an AML exhibition at Yoho Mall, Yuen Long on January 17 and 18. These events featured AML exhibition boards, themed game booths, as well as photo spots. Members of the Hong Kong Police Painting and Calligraphy Club also wrote festive calligraphy for the public on the spot to welcome the new year. Newly designed AML souvenirs were also distributed at the venues, attracting participation from over a thousand citizens.

In addition, FIIB officers visited Hong Kong Shue Yan University and Hong Kong Baptist University on January 9 and 22 respectively to hold AML seminars to explore money laundering trends, modus operandi, and the harm.

The AML promotional truck toured across the territory from January 19 to February 1, disseminating AML information through interactive ways. On January 25 and February 1, FIIB also collaborated with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Association of Banks, and the Consulates General of the Philippines and Indonesia in Hong Kong to conduct AML promotion campaigns across different communities in Central and Causeway Bay.
