INTERPOL's Cybercrime Expert Group In-Person Annual Meeting &
Cyber Command Course 2026

On February 2 and 3, the Force and INTERPOL co-organised the 2nd INTERPOL’s Cybercrime Expert Group (CyberEX) In-Person Annual Meeting. The CyberEX meeting brought together over 120 participants from around the world, including representatives from law enforcement agencies, members of the academia and industry experts.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Commissioner Chow Yat-ming pointed out that, in view of the growing trend for technology crimes to become more organised with clear division of labour and larger scales, more intensive cross-border collaboration and cross-sector partnerships were essential to effectively enhance prevention, investigation and combat capabilities. He also emphasised that no single jurisdiction could handle cybercrime alone.

Chief Superintendent of the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) Lam Cheuk-ho hosted the meeting as the Chairman of CyberEX, leading participants to share experiences in disrupting the industrialisation of cybercrime, with a view to strengthening the international collaboration network.

Following the CyberEX meeting was the three-day Cyber Command Course 2026, with the participation of the highest number of overseas cyber commanders ever. The course delved into six key topics, attracting nearly 40 law enforcement officers from various countries, including delegations from 11 countries along the Belt and Road. Lam Cheuk-ho elaborated on the core qualities and knowledge required for cyber commanders, and shared how to formulate strategies to combat cybercrime. Over 20 university scholars and information security industry experts were also invited to exchange practical experiences and strategic insights with participants from different places.

CSPA 2025 Presentation Ceremony

The fifth Cyber Security Professional Awards (CSPA) 2025 Presentation Ceremony was held on January 30 by the CSTCB, co-organised by the Government Computer Emergency Response Team Hong Kong of the Digital Policy Office and the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre of the Hong Kong Productivity Council. The inauguration ceremony of the second-term Cyber Security Action Task Force was also held on the same day. Nearly 400 guests attended the event.

During the ceremony, 64 individual awards were presented to winners from various professional sectors. Moreover, four organisation-award categories were introduced for the first time, with a total of 19 organisations receiving the awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner stated that cyber security had transcended the technical realm, and become a fundamental element to support the sustainable development of innovation and technology, smart cities and digital economy. He praised all the award-winning individuals and organisations as vital forces in helping Hong Kong advance steadily in this critical area.

This year’s CSPA received 219 nominations from 140 organisations. Participating sectors covered a total of eight major areas, reflecting the recognition from various sectors and confirming the increasing importance of cyber security.

The inauguration ceremony of the second-term Cyber Security Action Task Force appointed 12 leading local and international cyber security organisations. The new-term Task Force will engage in deepened intelligence exchange, professional collaboration and joint training to continually enhance Hong Kong’s joint defence capability against cyber threats.

The events demonstrated the Force’s effective use of its extensive internal and external connections as well as its role as the hub for international policing cooperation to link local and regional forces and promote global law enforcement collaboration.
