To complement the Jiao Festival’s “floating colours” parade in Cheung Chau, the National Security Express (NS Express) promotional balloon of the National Security Department made its first appearance during the event. The NS Express promotional balloon also travelled through the streets and alleys of Cheung Chau. It featured mascots from the Security Bureau and the Force, along with promotional slogans, integrating national security education into traditional folk festivals. Director of National Security Kong Hok-lai also distributed national security souvenirs to spectators along the route.

Assistant Commissioner (National Security) (2) Kwok Ka-chuen stated that national security is closely intertwined with the daily lives of citizens. The debut of the NS Express promotional balloon at the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival helped enhance public awareness and support for safeguarding national security. The event also highlighted the important element of “Cultural Security” under “A Holistic Approach to National Security”, fostering public understanding that cultural security is inseparable from daily life. The Force and various organisations worked together to ensure the smooth running of the event, which also reflects the importance of “Societal Security” under “A Holistic Approach to National Security”.
