The Information Systems Wing (ISW) rolled out the InputX application in May, allowing report room officers, through their Force smartphones, to use various input methods and the translation function on the desktop terminal. This system helps them enter data or compile reports more quickly and accurately, thereby improving the efficiency of report room operations.

To assist report room officers in familiarising themselves with InputX, the E-Police Division (EPOL) uploaded an instructional video to the P-TV in early May, and visited several police stations to explain the application to the officers.

The ISW has also launched the three-month pilot scheme, applying InputX in 42 police stations across Hong Kong. Upon completion of the pilot scheme, the ISW will review its effectiveness, user feedback and system capacity, so as to improve user experience and explore the feasibility of opening up the system to more police departments in the future.
