New Territories North Region (NTN) staged the “Anti-Scam Month Kick-off Ceremony and Variety Show 2026” on July 11. The event honoured the new members and outstanding performers of Project HERO, while marking the launch of the “Anti-Deception Master Challenge 2026”. Commissioner Chow Yat-ming, along with the chairpersons of the Fight Crime Committees of Tai Po, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and North Districts, attended as officiating guests.
In his speech, the Commissioner likened scams to viruses and anti-deception publicity to vaccines, suggesting that the more people get vaccinated, the more effective scam prevention efforts become. Through police-public and cross-sector collaboration, anti-scam messages can be seamlessly integrated into daily life, further raising public awareness against deception and collectively building a stronger community protection network.
NTN is hosting the online event “Anti-Deception Master Challenge 2026” from July 11 to October 9. Members of the public can visit the gaming website to watch a short “anti-deception crash course” video lasting about 10 minutes. By answering 10 anti-scam quiz questions correctly and filling in the required personal information, participants will have a chance to win attractive prizes.
