Chairman of the Youth Federation of Huaqiao University (HQU) Ms Huang Ning, together with four teaching staff members, led a 43-member student delegation from the HQU to visit the Police Headquarters on July 16. The delegation met with officers from the Recruitment Division (RECDIV) to exchange views and explore strategies for recruiting Hong Kong students studying in the Chinese Mainland to join the Force.

During the visit, RECDIV officers introduced the Force’s recruitment initiatives at the HQU and provided an overview of the training for Recruit Police Constables (RPCs) and Probationary Inspectors to the delegation. Four RPCs who graduated from the HQU also shared their cadet school life and training experiences. The delegation subsequently visited the base of the Emergency Unit of Hong Kong Island to have an understanding of the Force’s frontline daily work and relevant equipment.

Since 2022, the RECDIV has collaborated with Chinese Mainland universities to organise the Hong Kong Police University Recruitment Express (PURE) (Mainland). To date, more than 3 600 applications have been received. Among them, eight rounds of PURE (Mainland) have been held at the HQU, and nearly 1 000 applications in total have been received, with 170 of its graduates admitted to the Police College for training. The RECDIV will visit the HQU again in October to organise the ninth PURE (Mainland) to provide Hong Kong students in the Chinese Mainland with one-stop selection arrangements.
