Mong Kok District (MKDIST)’s “Project Torch” held the “A Date with Commissioner” sharing session on July 15. Commissioner Chow Yat-ming personally visited Mong Kok Police Station to encourage over a hundred Project members.

The Commissioner shared his own experiences and police career, encouraging members to reflect on “why do I want to become a police officer” and to find the most suitable platform for their personal development through this process. Also, the Commissioner emphasised the importance of team culture, and pointed out that inspectors must be dedicated in everything so that they can truly understand the difficulties their colleagues face at work, thereby maintaining humility, respect, and empathy at all times to foster team cohesion.

Members actively asked questions during the interactive session, covering police recruitment and how to stand out in the selection process. The Commissioner provided two key insights: sincerity and preparation, and stated that as long as candidates give a hundred per cent effort and refine every detail to perfection, the interviewers will definitely sense their dedication.

The sharing session not only broadened the horizons of the members and increased their understanding of police work and application procedures, but also established a correct mindset and values for the members, preparing them for applying to join the Force.
