To enhance communication with frontline officers, Commissioner Chow Yat-ming visited the Tai Hing Operational Base of Traffic New Territories North (T NTN) on August 12.
The Commissioner first listened to a briefing by Senior Superintendent of T NTN Justin Shave to gain a better understanding of the geographical characteristics of the areas under T NTN’s purview, their application of technology, as well as relevant enforcement and investigation work. They also exchanged views on the developments of the Northern Metropolis and the new Huanggang Port. Subsequently, the Commissioner went on patrol with officers along Tuen Mun Road, where he observed firsthand the real-time detection capabilities of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system.
The Commissioner then engaged in exchanges with officers of different ranks. He highly commended their professionalism and highlighted the arduous and challenging nature of traffic policing duties. He also had in-depth discussions with the officers on various topics, and elaborated on the challenges confronting the Force and its future development directions.
