The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) continues to take multi‑pronged measures to promote cybersecurity and anti-scam information to various sectors locally and overseas through community education and professional exchanges, enhancing the community’s resilience against cyber threats.

Deliver training for education sector

Superintendent of CSTCB Hui Yee-wai delivered a training session for participants of the Third Hong Kong Inter-School Civic Education Officer Competition on August 6, which introduced risks such as deepfake, phishing SMS messages, and naked chat blackmail through interactive demonstrations and real-case sharing. Participants experienced how artificial intelligence can manipulate images and videos, thereby enhancing their understanding of the dangers of deepfake and the importance of verifying online information. The training also explained common features of phishing SMS messages and emails, and the typical tactics used in naked chat blackmail. Hui Yee-wai encouraged the participants to leverage Scameter+, and to share what they learned with family and friends.

Exchange with delegation of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore

31 public service leaders from the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore visited Hong Kong Science Park on August 17 for an exchange of experience in areas such as smart policing, drone policing, technology applications and anti-cybercrime initiatives with Information Systems Wing, Operations Wing and CSTCB.
