Co-organised by the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, the Education Bureau and the Concerted Efforts Resource Centre, the 19th Hong Kong Youth Military Summer Camp and the 13th Hong Kong Tertiary Military Life Experience Camp were held at the San Wai Barracks in Fanling from August 3 to 16. About 500 students from local universities and secondary schools took part in the two-week discipline training and military life experience. 15 police officers served as voluntary instructors, led by example and fostered the trainees’ growth.

Commissioner Chow Yat-ming was invited to be the guest speaker at the summer camp’s moral education talk. He shared highlights of his policing career, as well as encouraged the trainees to work diligently and persistently towards their goals. He also said that they would certainly be able to overcome various challenges through close teamwork. The Commissioner also officiated at the closing ceremony held on August 16, witnessing the achievements of the trainees’ rigorous training.
