The New Territories North Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO NTN), in collaboration with the Family and Child Protective Services Unit (FCPSU) of the Social Welfare Department (SWD), held the Diverse Community Family Protection Programme 2026 x Grand Variety Show on October 3. The event was an extension of the family protection initiative under the Force Working Group on Non-Ethnic Chinese. It brought together representatives from the Force, the SWD, District Offices, schools, non-governmental organisations, ethnic minority (EM) service organisations, community partners and EM leaders. The event was also attended and supported by Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong Mr Riaz Ahmed Shaikh.
The event featured singing performances and Oriental, Indian and Nepali dances to showcase cultural diversity. Interactive games and service booths were also set up to help participants learn more about family support, EM services and community resources, while promoting the messages of family and child protection.
The programme was first launched last year by the RCPO NTN in collaboration with the FCPSU (Yuen Long) of the SWD. This year, the service network has been expanded from Yuen Long to Tuen Mun and Kwai Tsing.
