System upgrades boost productivity

Some 2,410 new Pentium II 400 computers were deployed to all formations and Headquarters Units recently, featuring upgrades to Chinese Windows NT Workstation 4.0.

The NT migration project team visited 15 Chinese Windows NT-migrated formations in October to collect feedback and comments. It was found that system hang-ups had been dramatically decreased and that system response time was considerably better. In addition to improved stability, the system performance was increased also.

With the new Common Terminals a more robust operating system was installed with more memory, allowing users to launch multiple applications whenever they were needed.

This was far more convenient as they could freely switch among applications and data could be copied and pasted without closing and launching applications, increasing productivity.
