Millennium stamp and cultural display

Scores of philatelists and visitors alike marvelled at the recent Millennium Stamp and Cultural Exhibition at the Police Sports and Recreation Club. The exhibition, organised by the Police Philatelic Club with assistance of the Police Museum and the Police Chinese Culture Club, was held December 29 to January 2 to ring in the new millennium.

More than 1,000 items including stamps, philatelic products, vintage coins and newspapers were on display.

A collection of historic Force photographs was also featured. The PPC, set up to promote stamp collection and related activities, currently has about 300 members and more Force staff are welcome to join.

For details contact Club chairman Henry Ho Ming-sun on 2841-6472.

  • Copies of a folder containing the 1999 Last Day Cover, the 2000 First Day Cover and a set of five Commemorative Postcards are still available at the Police Souvenir Shop at $100 each. Those who missed the chance to grab them at the exhibition should act quickly before they sell out.
