Simple living for relaxation

Entering the new century, many people are thinking about how to make further progression and advances. Yet, some others begin to reflect on the escalating complexity of life. Despite the improving material life, people appear to be more frustrated with their ever-growing desires. Worry, anxiety and stress are the result.

With these reflections, people begin to think about going back to basics. Mottoes like "simple living", "reducing waste" and "getting close to nature" become more popular. However, Simple Living is not a slogan. It is a value, an attitude. As your life becomes simpler, there is less distress and you can be more relaxed. Some "S-I-M-P-L-E" tips:

Satisfied: Happiness comes from contentment. To be satisfied with what we do; to like people and things around us; to appreciate what we have. Inner strength: Enjoyment does not usually come from spending. Through exploration of our own potential, we can enjoy our inner strength - utilise our creativity to make little things interesting.

Moderation: Some people indulge themselves to release stress but vices like alcohol, compulsive gambling and luxury lifestyles can emerge increasing stress. Be moderate.

Peaceful mind: There is a myth TV games, gambling and speeding can help us relax. The fact is they only distract you temporarily. Emptiness and anxiety may grow, so be calm when faced with stress.

Live within your means: Yearning for luxury creates trouble, especially when the ideal life exceeds one's constraints. Use your own resources, adjust your level of aspiration and do not strive for unachievable goals. Essential is enough: Some "needs" are products of desire. Not many things are really essential in our lives - live with the basics.

"Simplicity is not necessarily beautiful, but the most beautiful things are usually simple"
